A few words from The CEO
We know that people would much rather be at home than in hospital so we want to make sure that if they have to be in any of our hospitals, their experience is as positive as it can be.
A big part of this is the service that Bay Trust Radio offers across University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.
Since 1977, the volunteers that make up the Bay Trust Radio team have been broadcasting news and entertainment around the clock to patients, staff and visitors at a time when home comforts are essential.
For those patients who are with us for long periods of time, the radio helps to pass the day and keep their minds occupied.
The station also offers local young presenters the opportunity to gain work experience in a real radio station and with the economy facing challenging times, providing young people with the opportunities to develop their skills and be supported in their learning is invaluable.
I can’t thank the Bay Trust Radio team enough for their hard work and dedication.
They do an excellent job of making a patient’s stay more comfortable and updating listeners on Trust news and developments.
Their contribution to patient care is very much appreciated by everyone and I know that many of the patients and staff continue to listen to the station at home from the Bay Trust Radio website.
Thank you again and keep up the good work.
